-Crater Lake was formed when the magma chamber was vacated during the eruption of Mt. Mazama (the name of the actual mountain Crater Lake is in). The magma was ejected, leaving a big empty void under the mountain. Eventually, the mountain collapsed into itself, creating a deep crater, or caldera. This eventually filled with water, leaving the 2000ft deep lake we see today. Mt. Mazama did not blow its top off like Mt. Kilauea or Mt. St. Helens. Mazama's top was in tact until it collapsed into itself.
Kilauea blew its top, and due to continued eruptions, continues to reshape itself. Mt. Mazama is considered to be possibly active, and many think it will erupt again in the future, like many other volcanoes.

5b) i) Solution: Rain water attracts and dissolves rock salts to form solution. E.g Rain water dissolves calcium carbonate of limestone thereby widening the cracks and joints of rocks
ii) Oxidation: Oxidation iabthe reaction of oxygen in air or water with minerals in rock. Oxidation takes place actively in rocks which contain Iron. When oxygen combines with iron it form iron oxide.
